Limbo yeah! It reminds me of it.
It also reminded me of swordigo an old phone platformer game.
I don’t know swordigo - i’ll check it out. Glad you sorted out the obscfordcti…whatever it was - i can stop pacing around the house backwards now! I’ll try your dragon game out at some point - If you need me as a play tester in future let me know. I think that was the sticking point for me on google play - a distinct lack of friends who were interested in games
You should give it a go, I had fun with it years ago.
Please keep pacing around the house as I didn’t solve my issue.
Google play allows me to upload the game, but it still shows the alert.
I played it again for the first time since the updates. Haha, the sword is in a different place to your tip from version 1. I didn’t get time to read the pop up when I picked it up. I slashed the spider a lot but it didn’t die. But I preferred wandering around seeing all the goodies. The shapepainter player “changing animations” when it goes up or down a ramp - just so good. I also loved the shockwave when falling into the water. And those very gentle smoke puffs. Were they particles? Everything is so well thought out, like the sword going into a rest position when the player is still or the carry position when going up a ladder. Exposing my game inexperience here I suppose, but what does the j key do? I also really liked the paper like textures and the zoom out feature.
Thanks for playing it again @Bubble!
The shield is far left underground and you use j to block …which is quite fun against the birds. The spider battle needs further work but Ive not got time for a while to do more to it. The clouds are just the particle emitter…i got lazy! I really need to create a vector graphics editor with an animations tab and the ability to tween from animation to animation…but that’s a lot of work! But then you’d be able to add curve points in the array and it would be so much easier to create the animations.
I was actually admiring the clouds if they were particles. I’ve never seen particles used so gracefully before.
Thanks @Bubble - they’re drifting off with a little gravity on x and y. And then there’s some objects randomly generating in the foreground (possibly too many) and drifting quickly by. I think that there’s scope for an animated 2d particle extension - I just looked for one and couldn’t find anything.
there’s still - loads to sort out in this game but I’ve got loads of work on at the moment.
Thanks for your support here!
Update - so there’s now fish and storks and a cosmetic overhaul to the underground
Hello!
I played again and what game it is now!
It changed a lot since the last time i played.
I love it a lot.
Just an advice if you accept it: center the player object on ladder during Up or Down player’s moves with Lerp function, as i done in my game Rick Dangerous.
Good interessant and original game, both by the technique used and the interest of playing it.

Thanks @Amigo54 …it’s taking shape…Ive been able to do a bit more to it as the here’s less on at work. I’ll look at the ladder mechanics again…there is a force sending you towards the middle but I might try lerping it and seeing if it’s a better option!
Wow, either i did not pay attention to the game properly, or you gave it a BIG update. ![]()
Keep up the Good work!

Hi @Amigo54 - I have changed to ladder to lerp (thanks for the tip!) and tidied up the logic - seemd to work better.
The ladders fall down when unattached now - which doesn’t quite work yet but I might try physics 2 next and see if its better!
Hello Dave!
It was nothing, it’s normal.
I tried it and i like it much.

Fireflies added! - I’m going to have to get on with something constructive soon - as this project is consuming me a tad!
Exactly to the same feeling for my actual game Rick Dangerous.
I am constantly struggling to continue my game and also to create another.
Although I granted myself some rest on RD, I find it difficult to finish its development.

Do you need some more feedback on Rick dangerous? …send me a like and I’ll have another play?
It’s nice to propose that to me but it is not mandatory.
I take (very much) my time to create the level 1 because perhaps, i know how to realize it and it is no more so fun than at the beginning of the creation.
I loved a lot to do this older game for many reasons but the desire to continue decreases and the time flies so fast.
Thanks Dave for your proposition.
PS: i am perhaps going to see if i could do a game for Amiga with the Scorpion Engine but before, i shall learn this tool (there is a little programmation to do to create a game in this engine and i like that)

Gave it another play, oh my goodness, the storks are just too much, so cute. And the little birds are so brutal haha. And I love the fish left and right transition. What fun. I got a bit confused, is there a keyboard key now for fighting with the sword, or only click on the sword icon which really tested my co-ordination. I saw E was a shortcut but not for fighting.
Thanks Bubble - im having fun with it! but i need to concentrate on work really - Ive been doing it early, b4 work! It should still work pressing K for the sword - I’m going to hide the mobile controls - if no touch screen. E is to drop (plus J or K) but its also going to be used for interacting
Update - A few things sorted out. There’s a sort of claw thing added, and now kill spider to gain spider ability and climb up walls!
