ohhhh okay so what do u animate
are u working on any animations
I’m developing a Metroidvania in the old-school way, and I’m using 3D modeling for the character, enemies, and environments… to achieve a 2.5D effect (though I’m currently exporting everything as sprites). I’ve definitely already animated the main character and a few enemies, but of course that’s not all. The work progresses hand in hand with development, so some days (more than a few) I have to code, some days I work on the map, then the backgrounds, and so on. So no, I’m not spending every single day animating… definitely not…
It kind of is resource heavy, actually… But I use an M4 Mac mini. However, when I first joined, I was using a desktop as old as me with an Intel i5, no dedicated GPU, 400GB HDD, and like 8GB DDR3 RAM. Also, were you mining crypto on that laptop or something? That’s quite the build, especially for running GDevelop. Effects don’t really play nice with older hardware like my old desktop, including tons of objects, but it’s still technically impressive GDevelop can run that well considering it’s literally just Chromium, which… Is most of the problem.
i got a Macbook Air
8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
1.8 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5
still runs modded minecraft with shaders so i am fine : )
