Hi, as you know i havent made any games because i have no ideas, i think its that because i am afraid no one will like my game, so i was wondering what kinds of games are popular?

If you are not an idea of game to create, take paper and write on it all ideas flying in your head.
Even the craziest.
Then, when you’ll have plenty of ideas on paper, choice 1 or 2 ideas which seem to be the best.
This stage is called brainstorming.

The safest game you can make is a platformer, as it’s a genre that most people are familiar with. The only downside to making a platformer is that obviously there are a lot of platformers out there, so you will need make your platformer unique in a way to stand out.
Something I’ve also noticed is that there are a lot of people who don’t have computers, and can only play games on a phone, so maybe give your game mobile compatibility, and it could attract some users.
As for other genres, racing is also another pretty popular one. There’s also RPG’s but those take a lot more effort compared to other games, mainly when it comes to making a story and fleshing out characters.

Hi … I think that Its best not to worry about what other people like at all. Write games that you like. You have to test them over and over again …so it needs to be something you find fun or interesting. In the end …if other people like it then great! The biggest indie hits like undertale, fnaf, hollow Knight were written that way. So few games get played let alone make money…if you create something for you, that you love, and nobody else is bothered about then it’s a better result than if you’ve created something for someone else…and they’re not that bothered about it.

Yep. I learned this the hard way with my first GDevelop games. Created them to get tons of players, and ended up with less then 10 LOL!
Making games for fun is for sure the way to go!
