Haha, unintentionally guilty. I didn’t realise it’s turned off on my home PC.
So, ES, there were actually many words you could have used - spear, opens - are the first ones that come to mind so how the actual answer got in your head I don’t know haha. I mean the word didn’t have to start with those two letters.
Ughhh, I know I’m easily baited so I should just ignore this but I never had hard mode on. I don’t neeeeed it to play that wayyyyyyyy. Now my Australian long vowels are coming out haha.
Those Antipodean vowels are great. Six and deck always get a giggle in the UK.
Today’s wordle is sneaky :
Wordle 281 4/6*
You had me reaching for the dictionary again MrMen
antipodean - adjective
of, relating to, or originating from places on the opposite side of the globe, especially Australia and New Zealand; antipodal: “One can only assume that an inch-long European cockroach is of little concern to a woman accustomed to antipodean spiders the size of dinner plates.”
I feel like there’s more baiting happening, but here in Australia we know how to pronounce those vowels unlike our Kiwi counterparts. Mate.
Tricky one for me too.
Wordle 281 4/6
and on a lighter note as an indication of my sometimes stupidity, my friend had the word
Has letters from wordle 281
apply
in the guesses and when I saw it I was thinking no way, not another fake word, I was thinking it was some stupid word relating to
Has letters from wordle 281
apples
.
No baiting, just casting us southern hemispherians on the same boat. But yes, you do know how to pronounce those vowels like no other.
It’s interesting how we can differentiate between Aussies and Kiwis by accent, but other countries cannot. We probably sound the same to them as Canada and USA to us.
I’m back on track, boys and girls (yeah, karma will probably bite me tomorrow):
Wordle 282 2/6*
Wowwwwww. From one letter, amazing, MrMen, I’m very impressed. That’s a huge win.
It was a bad one for me, it’s one of those ones where the first letter could have been many possibilities and I have to admit I used Gruk’s strategy for my fourth guess and was thankful for it. I had five possibilities with three guesses remaining. So I definitely didn’t play hard mode style for this one.
Wordle 282 5/6
I haven’t been to NZ so I guess the only NZ living Kiwis I’ve heard has been in games and I really didn’t notice much difference in accents. Just enough to know, but not very ‘strong’ like I used to hear somewhere or other in the past.
Admittedly, it was a big stroke of luck.
You’ll have met Kiwis in Australia. Just may not have been aware of it. Or they’ve adapted their pronunciations to fit in with the locals, like sleepers
For some reason my post has been awaiting approval for the last 2 hours, anyone knows how that can happen? I did leave it as a draft for a few hours on my phone and then finished it on my pc later on
Probably has something to do with ip switching or have I been a bad wordler?
EDIT: It has been approved
It was dumb logic. I just started with the letters that were right in the second guess, and then the only word I thought of was the answer by luck.
Very nice! That is a score I can only dream about.
I also keep missing one every other day, this sometimes is because I usually want to get it within 3-4 guesses. If this doesn’t happen, I get stuck on the other guess for so long that I get bored with it and start doing pixel art/gdev again.
Got another decent one today though
Wordle 282 3/6*
Nice. I think 3 requires more skill than 2 or 1.
Having just said that, it’s another lucky day in the office wordle-land:
Wordle 283 3/6*
Did you guys ever play or try wordament?
Nope, but am getting it now. But from the pics it looks like a word search game? If it is just that and nothing more then it won’t really suit me. The description isn’t very informative. I see scores on each letter which makes it seem like it could be more. Will try it later.
Hmmm MrMen, haha, I said that a while back. Thanks for agreeing though
However, ES, I’d like to share (show off) one of my early posts (post number 8) where a two wasn’t a fluke, here’s the screenshot:
Well, maybe the ones you’re missing would be 3s or 4s for you. But you’ll never know. Does Mrs ES play on the days when you don’t?
Oh and I forgot to say ES, that I have started writing on one device and then some time later gone to finish it on a different device but did not get the approval alert that you got. Although it wasn’t in this wordle thread which might be veryyyy low priority haha if there’s any kind of backlog in the server or whatever it is.
Yeah, nah. You create as many words as you can from the 16 letters available. Letters have value scores (like scrabble). and in the multi-player online version, you compete to get the highest score in a set time.
You think I remember that? I have trouble remembering I did wordle earlier in the day.
Haha, always good to see a ‘yeah nah.’
I tried the game, there’s a snapchat game that’s just the same which I’ve played a couple of times and loved. But the snapchat game was a timed game against an actual friend whereas this one seems to be just play by yourself and then compare your score on the leaderboard to random other people. I played as a guest though so maybe I wasn’t seeing everything.
But MrMen, the top player on the leader board for that particular set of letters was called "SmartestKiwi.’ Hahahahhahahahha, is that you? Cos if it is, and you admit to it, I don’t know what that’s going to do for your wordle karma.
Oxymoron ? No, I haven’t played it quite a few years. I thought there was an online tournament style game, with a few minutes to get the highest score possible., and if I do then my other handle is HardTranceFan.
Yes, I wasn’t clear enough, the multiplayer part of wordament is indeed timed, but did not seem to have the potential to play one on one with a stranger or a friend.
And hahahhah, you’ve been pushing the image that you’re old and forgetful which really left me laughing at your other name, hahahahaha
I had to think about this. Yes, haha, but if you had wanted to go the other way (towards potential bad karma) you could have said it was a tautology.
I like that better
I could have got it in two, thought of it, but thought nah, need to diversify the letters more.
