Sometimes I think having the right letters in the wrong place is a better position than right letters right place. I usually look at using more common letters, but for guesses 2 & 3 it didn’t work this time :

I also failed 454 but it was totally my fault. I made stupid mistakes all over the place. I was placing “R” at the same place three times for some reason. I forgot to copy my score, but my wife wanted to share hers because she laughed at our failure. Fun fact: She didn’t even know what the final word meant.

Here’s my scoredle, the numbers to the right are how many words it could have been after that guess. It must have the asterisk because it detected that I played in the hard mode style. We all have our pet starter words but what pleases me the most is choosing wisely for the second guess to really narrow things down.

Wordle 457 is a series of bad moves for me - one being that I had toyed with using the final answer at step 3, but decided to go with a more common word. And there is another bad-ish move, but I won’t mention it yet because it’ll spoil it for the rest

Hmmm, so I’m assuming you newest starter word ends in s. Is that a wise choice considering that wordles don’t seem to be big on plurals? Or have you found one that isn’t a plural? Of course I’m curious to know what it is so will keep an eye on things.

Yes, it would be an atrocious starting word. I wrote it because it’s a 5 letter word that ends with an ‘s’.
Just for a laugh, I searched “5 letter words ending with s not plural”, and found this link.
Yes, that list is huge, lots of dodgy words as well as plurals. I was thinking of words like ‘bonus’ but not that as it has an ‘o’. So then, your word ends with o, like pinto or something. I think pinto has already been a wordle answer though, but my memory could be wrong. Nothing wordle worthy is coming to mind but yeah, will have another think next time you use it. And haha, yes stats is definitely a plural.
I’m extremely pleased with myself with this three, much more so than my recent two which was pretty obvious after the first guess. This one felt like an achievement.
