Why are some Post flagged

Why are some post flagged that you can not read them.

I posted this on GDevelop general, because I do not now to post on a other type.

Sometimes it’s content but a lot of times it’s the overly aggressive spam filter. Can you give examples? Are they all yours?

@Keith_1357 I never got flagged, but i saw it on someone.

Frequently, a post isn’t readable because the poster deleted it.

I use words like crap or shiet or fak
And that is never flagged
BUT from time to time using perfectly OK words in my post they got flagged

And like Keith said
Spam filter overlay aggressive where i would say dumb
Its just like a bot
You can expect it to do its job
Yet you cannot it expect human like quality of filtering

I’ve got flagged 3 times this week and it’s only Tuesday.

I wouldn’t mind but there was nothing offensive in any of my posts IMO.

  • The moderators are getting tons of reports because of useless comments that don’t help with the issue, or are off-topic.

The forum is a place to get help, not a place to having a small talk or just saying random or off topic things.

  • Some of them are deleted by the author themselves.

People still report these kinds of topics, but it’s pointless — they get deleted automatically within weeks…

  • Most of the time, they’re triggered automatically. Posts are flagged because people are typing too fast like bots.

  • Flags can be misused. Some users even flag a post just to ask the moderators for a username change — that’s really unfortunate for the original author of the post that can get a report:

  • We’re also getting a lot of reports for strong language.
“sheit” or “crap” which might soon be included in the filters if it come to be used too often toward people.
To finish some people twist their wording to belittle others and some comments sound condescending. That kind of tone is heavily frowned upon and often gets reported.

Oh thanks for the information

I spotted one of your flagged posts which, iirc, told the OP they’d never be a coder using a programming language because they can’t spell correctly. This was to a forum member who clearly wasn’t a native English speaker. That would be construed as bigoted or xenophobic, neither which has a place in this forum.

Yes, especially if the publish button is pressed right afterwards, other facts can be taken into account I guess.
