I think having a saving and old and new states of the game is a great idea, but I’m not sure people who play the game would want to bother with it. I’m also not sure I am smart enough to program the logic…
Minecraft! because they knew that loading old saves would break the game in unknown ways. Also, games that have these is Baldur Gates, Factorio and Stardew Valley.

Doesnt it always load the most recent save anyway?
If a user leaves, you’re game for like 6 months and does an update (sometimes steam maybe) and want to continue playing. The user would obviously want to try their old save and that’s when this kicks in.
So then this mechanism wouldnt load the corrupted save, but…
The mechanism would warn the user about loading the old save. Like a warning:
This save is old and may break the game >New Game >Continue Anyways
Also, new update, bees spawn from hives now. You can destroy this hive with a sword to get honey.
But the mechanism wouldnt provide an alternate solution anyways, the user would still have to either: start a new game; or risk breaking the game with the old save? Is that how it works? Just trying to understand, is all the mechanism do notify the player about potential corrupted saves?
Yes that’s all it is. So in case they see a bug caused by an old save (like those blue lines stuff), they know its because the save is buggy.

Could u make it possible to seperate something like if you left clicked something and then right clicked it some where else it took one of it and put it in that slot?
I was trying to code it, spent so long trying to work my head around it… havent solved it yet. It’s definitely on the to do .
It will be used to trade with NPCs in the future… so keep saving I guess
