3D Custom Collision Mask/ Mesh Collider for 3D models

Hello there Gdevelop team,

You guys are doing really great work making Gdevelop a truly Multi-dimensional game engine, I am really excited to see the 3D editor in coming updates.

Although, while trying out the 3D features and 3D examples in GDevelop, I came to know that we cannot really add a custom collision shape to the 3D models we import, for example We can have the option “Mesh Collision” in shape options, so that it will adapt and hug the 3D model we import.

This is really crucial and one of the most important feature in 3D engines when working with custom meshes/models, as you might already know. And i am sure you guys have an eye on this feature.

But if would be really good if you can make this feature in the engine sooner, so we would be able to import any model and setup collision shape in physics, so that player can interact and walk on any kind of grounds, architecture and shapes. without having to have a tedious workaround.

Yh we really need this feature, am working on a Wolfenstein 3d inspired fps game and wanted to use Sketchup and Blender to create levels with its custom collision but am stuck, am already thinking may be I should wait, find a way around it, or rather maybe use godot, but I love gdevelop, I have deep experience with unity, and some experience with godot, but I would prefer using gdevelop for simpler games

Yes, same with me… i have experience with unity… but I made and publish around 3-4 games using Gdevelop on Playstore and web. I love how easy it is create logic and events from basic to advanced gaming mechanics in Gdevelop.

I am also liking the 3D capabilities of Gdevelop and how they are taking it forward. But without the core 3D features and Mesh capabilities it is really difficult to work on a potential and noticeable 3D projects.

and switching to learn an another no code Game engine would be time taking… for me right now Gdevelop is the best among all the no-code 3D game engine (would become irreplaceable with 3D editor and mesh collisions).

right now i am keep tight eyes on the release notes and development of Gdevelop…
