3D navigation in the editor

I would care more about the performances of the actual 2D ui…cos it gets slower at each update before talking about add a 3d one.

I hope so because now and for the first time in my life I see that programming a 3D game in one of the engines is easier than designing the level :joy::joy:

There really needs to be a 3D Editor, The gdevelop 3D game creation is the worst i have ever tried. it is insanely annoying trying to create something with it

the 3D editor should include

  • Those 3 Arrows so you change the position, scale, rotation, exc.
  • Options for the navigation
    • Unity style navigation (walk)
    • Blender style navigation (Orbit)
  • The little orientation thing in the top right
  • Isometric mode (top down) and will be activated with any of the orientation thing
  • Top down mode will be on by default, since 2D should ofc still be usable
  • Camera Object(s)

Camera objects

  • No more the default little box showing the viewport of the previews, it would disappear when adding a camera
  • All camera settings will be moved into the camera
  • In isometric mode it will show the Camera width and Camera height
  • You will not be able to change the size but instead the zoom/fov
  • It will act like a normal object, so you can move it and stuff
  • You can select which layers they apply to (multiple or single)
