Hi all, this request is regarding the Engine Start Pages, so the first thing you see when you start the engine, either on Desktop, Web, and iPad, etc.
Request - I am requesting that we can have a page “Project’s Page” or a “Profile” on start. This page would only have our most recent projects and chosen directories for new projects and to find current projects, like something you more commonly see in engines such as Unity’s - Unity Hub and Godot’s Project Finder when starting Godot. This would NOT have monetisation and just be a “Clean” page for developers. Or move all monetisation to the “Store” tab section.
Why? - I subscribe to Gdevelop to support the team; however, the create and learn pages that are the main pages are now full of monetisation in your face. Every page now has some form of product, and I understand the company needs revenue, but it’s to the point where even with my subscription, they’re still there, even if I own the templates, etc.
Personally and professionally, I would like a clean page showing my projects without being sold to or enticed to pay more for products of varying quality. I understand most people won’t care, but for people like myself who support the project, please give us an option to set a Homepage that does not have all this, as it makes it seem like the direction is to make as much money off developers as possible. I am agreeable to supporting with a sub for the benefits and to know the developers have income, yet please give us the benefit of a clean page on engine boot.
If not, I would love to hear the reasoning from a developer. I love this engine and love the open source model and I think having the option for a clean page is a welcomed change.

I fully agree.
People who contribute financially to gdevelop, at least, shouldnt have all this advertising getting in the way of their creative process. tabs off to the side should be sufficient for accessing tutorials. the creating a new project screen is okay, if a bit busy. but the opening page is just an annoyance.
Exactly right, I think a page like even Construct 3 has, Godot and Unity for just showing your projects, most recent projects and directories is needed.
Glad I am not the only one, as I think as you said, it’s getting “Busy” on some pages.
Ignoring it is one way, but, having an option for a page that is free of monetisation is another more long term option, alongside feeling more clean and professional for a Engine.
Also, adding to this, it’s fine if the dev team say they prefer the advertising of paid and free content on the landing page for users, in either create or learn, or opting only to open the last project.
I’m asking if will/can have a non-workaround option for a non-monetised page to start on the engine boot, alongside just showing our recent projects to jump in and out of, or moving paid content to store page only.
I might be a bit confused on your response to the suggestion above.
To be clear, setting that option to “Show the create section by default” and then closing the two top segments (Jam advertisement and ask AI prompt box), means you always open to this:
