Attach a weapon to a sprite across multiple frames of the sprite's animation?

I would like to use a point placed at the hand of my player sprite. This point would be used to stick the equipped weapon to so it stays in his hand across the frames of his animation.

The problem I am having is I go into edit points, and create the weapon slot point, move it to the hand, and then apply. However, if I move it on one frame it also moves on other frames. I have unchecked use the same points across frames, and it just turns itself back on every time I open edit points again.

You have to toggle off “Share same points for all sprites in the animation”, make a change on the frame you are currently on, then hit apply, AND hit apply on the object settings itself, then go back in before making any changes to other frames. The setting will stick then

If you switch to another frame before applying the above change, it’ll reset it back to the default due to how the shared setting is applied in the backend. Just hitting apply on the points screen itself will not save the setting.
