Starting this Megathread off, I have decided to take on the complicated (and probably pretty dumb) challenge of making a sequel for my game that hasn’t released yet!
The reason I am doing this is because I (like everyone else) want money!
So according to my plan so far, Duck Game World 1 will release on itch.io for 100% free!
Duck Game World 2 + Endless Mode will also release at the same time for $4 (USD).
What do you guys think of the pricing? Is $4 too much for a game?
(I’m treating World 1 as a sort of “Demo” but it will still feel like a finished game because it is the first world.)
Is $4 an alright price?
$4 is way too much for a game!

Duck Game World 2 + Endless Mode is also going to be way more than just a “small expansion” for the first world. I originally was going to make it Duck Game World 2 but then I came up with the “small” idea for endless mode. Endless mode was supposed to be a side thing to add a bit more content to World 2.
How wrong I was.
I have now spent more time working on Endless Mode then World 2, because of how many features and fun things I am adding to it. (More details later.)
Also small question just to double check. If I create updates for my game, GDevelop storage still saves variable between updates right?
So anyways, that’s an overview of what I’ve been up to. Hopefully someone (anyone really) enjoys reading this!
Hey Xierra!
I originally was going to make Duck Game Word 2 a “DLC” for the first world, but I decided to turn it into a seperate game.
Thankfully I took the good route and developed 99% of the first Duck Game before even starting on the second one. Now I am about 60% of the way through the second one.
The part that is kinda dumb is that I haven’t released the first one yet to get feedback before putting a lot of effort into the second one. I plan to release them both at the same time that way I don’t have to hype up 2 releases which would be very close to each other anyway. If anything, I’m getting slowed down by how many ideas I have for Endless Mode! I don’t want to spoil it right now, but I’ve added something SO COOL to Endless Mode, I’m surprised that almost no games use this.
What do you mean by “Unlock” the game? Like DLC?
Thanks for chatting in this Megathread!

By example, when the player reached a certain stade (or another thing like checkpoints or what you want), the player can have access to special things of gameplay that free version can’t permit.
The difficulty will be to distinguish the free or paid version but if you have 2 differents versions of game, you’ll not have this problem.
Hey everyone! Small news about Duck Game!
I have planned out what needs to be finished for the game to release, and I’ve set an estimated release date which is… October-November 2025!
I only have a few things to finish up & a few bugs to fix before release so it should be ready to release soon!
Also, the Duck Game Artwork Contest is still open if you want to enter and potentially get some of your pixel artwork added into Duck Game!
(Super small side note, I became “member” on GDevelop forum today so for the next 30 days I can change the post’s title based on what is happening!!)
Thanks for reading this and hope you are excited for Duck Game! (I know I am!)
Finally. A second “Megathread.” Now I’m not the only one. I hope others continue this trend with their games on this forum. (…hmm, or maybe I should copyright it… nah.)
PS: I will now bookmark every Megathread (for myself), so I can keep track of amazing games (and how many posts have been made from @Ambytar’s idea…)
Other then that very minor inconvenience, Duck Game is going well!
I am getting closer and closer to its release every day, and more and more work is getting completed! Since I am ahead of my original plan, Duck Game’s release date has been changed from October-November to just October! Duck game will be releasing before the end of this month!
Thanks for reading and more Duck Game news will be coming soon!
Well everyone, after careful consideration, Duck Game has an OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE
I am so happy to finally have this giant project releasing, and I am super excited to see how everyone feels about the game! Here is the official Duck Game trailer:

As always, if you want more info about the games, feel free to ask any questions and/or check out the 2 pages:
Hey Everyone! Just a small update today since I’m getting ready for the release!
I’m filling out both the Duck Game & Duck Game World 2 + Endless Mode itch pages with more info! Duck Game is coming along smoothly and is going to release in LESS THEN A WEEK!
OH MY GOODNESS I CAN’T BELIEVE IT’S OFFICIALLY OUT!
Duck Game & Duck Game World 2 + Endless Mode has officially released! After a few months of hard work, I am so relieved to have this game release! World 1 is completely free and can be played in browser, on Mac, Windows, and Linux. It can also be played on Gd.games! World 2 + Endless Mode costs $4 and is available to purchase on itch for Mac, Windows, and Linux. Hopefully you guys all enjoy the game & any feedback would be wonderful!
Thanks everyone for coming along on this journey with me!

Just finished world 1. Really fun game you have here. The powerups definitely added some variety to gameplay. I do have one issue with the game, that being the game doesn’t tell you what level your on, which makes gauging how many levels you have left a bit annoying.
True. World 2 does have a level select menu, and I might implement one into World 1 in a future update! Thanks for the feedback and glad you enjoyed World 1!
Edit: Just wondering, do you know how long it took you to finish World 1? Thanks!
Edit 2: Also, what platform did you play on? I’m assuming you played in browser but if you played on mobile, how were the controls?
