Error 400 when trying to save my local project to the cloud – 200+ resource files affected

Hi everyone,

I’ve been working on a game for about two years, and until now I’ve only saved the project locally. I would now like to save it online in the GDevelop cloud as well, but I’m getting an Error 400 when I try to do so.

According to the AI assistant, there seem to be two main problems with my project:

  1. Some of my resource files (over 200) are not stored inside my project’s resource folder.

  2. Many of my files have spaces and/or special characters such as German umlauts (ä, ö, ü) in their filenames, which apparently causes problems when GDevelop tries to create links/URLs for these files.

Is there any way to automatically fix this? For example, is there a way to move all resources into the correct folder and automatically rename problematic files while also updating their references inside the project?

Or do I really have to manually rename and move more than 200 files one by one to make the project compatible with cloud saving?

I’ve been working on this project for two years, so I’m a bit worried about breaking resource references by manually renaming or moving everything.

Thanks a lot in advance if anyone has an idea or has dealt with a similar issue!

Generally, anything that isn’t ascii won’t work.

As far as I know cloud project resources have to match AWS url standards, and I believe they only support ascii characters, no extended characters are support.
