Groups in external events

I would like to be able to create groups in the external events list.

Groups in the external events list would be incredibly useful for organization, especially when you have many of them.

Thank you!

i have a bad feeling about this considering its been years and they havent added folders to scenes

I mean they did release a thing for 2026 (this year) mentioning scene folders in GDevelop, so if that does come then this also has a possibility of happening!

Also Im pretty sure you already can have groups in External Events

thats not true for either external layouts (scenes…?) or events. or regular scenes. and its not event groups like in the event sheet

It’s been working for me since last year.

My apologies, but I accidentally said external scenes instead of external events which was what I was referring to.
And yea I’m pretty sure it is true for external events because I had tested just now before I sent my original response just to make sure I was correct.

Everything that works for me doesn’t work for others! I’m a magician!

theyre talking about folders, right…?

Yes!!! And what? kotikskotikskotiks

They’re talking about Creating Groups in External Events
Not Folders and not External Layouts or Scenes…
You can’t even make folders in Events regardless of Internal or External so I have no idea where those thoughts come from lol

b…because the event sheet is IDENTICAL between every single part of the application.

Might need clarification from the op as it seems some posters have confusion on what the ask is.

For context:

  • ‘groups’ the context of GDevelop is for the event sheet. Everywhere there is an event sheet (scenes, external scenes, extensions, custom objects) you can group events.
  • ‘folders’ is currently the term used for grouping objects in the object or global object list.

You cannot do either for the scene or external event list.

If the Op means groups, those are already possible. If they mean folders, they should update the Op to clarify.

That. I actually made a mistake, as I was referring to folders.
