How do I create a "wind flow" or "airstream"?

Hi good people!
I’m working on a sidescroller/platformer and I’d like to create some areas with “wind” that would blow the character up or down. A bit like in Dave the Diver but for air :

I tried by messing with gravity, it kind of works but it’s not as smooth as I would have liked…
Would you happen to have other ways of achieving such a thing?


I would try adding force to the player
