Is it possible to apply the lightning system to an isometric game?

As the title says I am looking to make an isometric shooter with dynamic light system but I have found that with the basic example of isometric platform included with the engine it has some glitches like showing the light when it is right behind an object which should be casting shadows.

Is it worth to try it or is the lightning system ready only for 2D ?
