Manage Ambient Light Color in Lighting Layer

to manage the lights, the system automatically generates a layer called Lighting with a default color (128;128;128) that I can modify in the editor.

I would like to change that color during the game in order to make the game darker as time goes by.

Is it possible to manage it directly or using an additional object?
