Hi guys so (since my FPS game is still not working… Click here curious cats )
Im (trying) to make a multiplayer platformer and i need the camera to follow the player, but for player two only the camera following his player and on player ones screen the camera follow his player. pls help.
If it’s a 2D game, then check out this split screen example.
Yup it is.
i did but its kinda hard to understand, umm u think u could explain when u do its so much easier.
btw when i say split screen i dont mean player one can also c player two’s screen.
So an online multiplayer where each player is on their own PC and following their own player? Then look at the GDevelop wiki’s entry for multiplayer games.
tysm il have a look.
Aaah maybe i should do the ownership thing then it will work.
Nope, it still dosent work.
It will. I’ve created a PoC following the instructions in the video, and it works. Make sure you follow each step. Missing one out can cause it to not work.
which vid? on the website u sent?
@zGameCreator - I’m loving your enthusiasm, but I think you should concentrate on single player and all the issues there. I’m worried that this isn’t the best use of @MrMen s time as this morning you weren’t sure why the camera was following the player in single player. The issues in multiplayer can be difficult to diagnose and might require someone copying exactly what you’re doing and going through things forensically. If you really want to have a crack at multiplayer then open the example projects and play about with them…turn things off …move things around and see what happens. Ownership issues are an utter pain, and the risk here is that mr men spends ages diagnosing this and at the end of it - it works …but you don’t really understand why it works.
but i do love your energy and desire to create!
In the wiki page that I linked, there’s a video that pops it’s head at the bottom half of the screen when the page opens up, titled “Multiplayer Made Easy”:
Ty so much.
(thanks alot for helping me)
