I have an idea for making melee combat easier! What if there was a condition where an object was in collision with a specific hitbox?
Hitbox 1 would be “normal”
Hitbox 2 would be “attack”
If an enemy was in collision with specifically the “attack” hitbox, they’d take damage.
If the player’s “normal” hitbox was in collision with a hazard or enemy, they’d take damage.

As mentioned in that thread, the workaround for this right now is to make custom points on your character and attach objects to those points via events, which you can then target separately via events.
