Hello!
Creating a new project shows an option called “Optimize for Pixel Art”:
What does it do exactly? 
My guess would be it starts with the project in Nearest Neighbor scaling mode by default.

Yeah, it makes sure none of the images become blurry is they are, lets say 16 pixals by 16 pixals. even if its 2x2 it wont get blurry.
