Player Authentication + saving data

I’ve been reading about data saving and player authentication.

But I’m not sure how ‘player authentication’ works.

Is it using ‘a file system’ or ‘a storage’?

Under the player authentication, I can’t find any events/conditions related to data saving.

What happens if I use player authentication and storage?
Will it load players data? Where will it be saved? In cookies? or GD server?
How do I save and load?? Same as doing with storage??

I’m little confused.

Player authentication currently only serves to obtain a users unique username, it has no storage or anything of the sort. The wiki page you link explicitly says so - in the future, it may be used for all of this, but it is not as of now.
