In the release notes for the latest update it says
Add a button for custom objects to generate actions/conditions/expressions that “forward” the ones of a child object.
Where is this new button? I wish release notes provided more details or at least a link to something that explains it further.
i think it is supposed to be right here:
tho it might need to have some conditions met first, which is having another prefab inside it
i’m talking based on this: Allow to generate functions to forward child-object ones by D8H · Pull Request #9036 · 4ian/GDevelop · GitHub
it wasn’t really clear for me lol, might be language barrier, but i figured out it gets the functions of any prefab inside your custom object
Thanks. I added a bunch of children objects to a prefab and the button does indeed show up if a custom object contains another custom object.
I had hoped it was a way to expose or create a way to access or control children objects from a scene. Like for example change a child’s visibility or position without creating your own functions. It’s still nice though.
After adding a button and slider.
Clicking it showed
Choosing the button object added these.

So..it basically add functions of the children inside the parent editor view..?..correct.?
mmm…i feel this was already possible…but i may be wrong.
It was already possible. It just automates it a bit. It’s similar how it will add functions to get/set properties.
