Rotation speed - too slow/too fast

Tried to recreate this Scratch tutorial in GD: inventwithscratch.com/pinwheel-demo/
If I use “Left button is pressed” without “Trigger once” the pinwheel goes crazy after couple of clicks. When I add “Trigger once” it takes forever to make it turn fast enough. What I’m doing wrong?

In the last event’s condition, it should be “>” instead of “<”.
