Can anyone provide me with a link or some other resource where I can learn more about displacement maps and how I can make them I mean what should I keep in mind should they be just black and white. what’s does the black part of the image does and what the white part does.

Actually I just figured it out by hit and trial 
. I’ll put an example explaining how I did that, when it’s done
or you just use a program like gimp/photoshop where you can make a displacement map via a click of a button
sometimes they need some extra polishing, depends on hat you’re trieing to archive.
