Spine Alternatives that should supported, pretty please

I know that they currently have experimental build for spine, but it requires you to own Spine license to publish. Which if that’s the case other similar paid software should be options like Moho, Spriter etc. so there could be options. Unless gdevelop is doing a exclusively with Spine, which i would understand but sad about.

Free options on the other hand, there is two ways it could possibly be made to be supported. (that I’m aware of)

  1. Inochi2D which is till activate being supported (it support vtubing, animation, and game dev)
  2. Godot which has internal rigging system (be weird though to rely on different game engine for your animations though)

That being said, gdevelop could (like godot) make it’s own internal system for it. Which be by far the most accessible option for gdevelop devs.

Thank you for time and consideration, and have great day.

Spine had an existing plugin for the PixiJS renderer, and was implemented by a contributor (not the gdevelop.io dev team).

I imagine those same things would be required for any other alternative.

Ah, ok, well hope can make an Inochi2D extension, since it’s free all.
