are you able to publish this game temporarily on gd.games so I can have a look? Or have a private link
Sure! let me polish up some things first so its easier for you to play.
Give it a try!!
Looking great and the lighting works very well!
i updated it, because i broke generation of pots
is there anything that needs to be worked on? how does breaking feel?
breaking feels fine, i would work on the main character next and make him 2 blocks high instead of three so you can mine sideways easier, and try out some animations on him
you will learn exactly why he is 3 blocks… but anyway.
can you imagine that sprite looking correct? like imagine a terraria character but make him 2 blocks lol
Also im working to implement raycasting breaking, so mining sideways will be less precise
it doesnt have to be exactly 1 block wide
Nice
It wont be, thats named playerhitbox. i think ill use another object for the visuals
Hey wait…terraria doesnt have crouching. Maybe i could add that
Yeah crouching or crawling would be interesting. Also yeah the more stuff branching away from Terraria the better. Good work so far
Ooooo this looks pretty neat
damage sounds genuinely make no sense in these sorts of games
terraria sounds like ough
minecraft sounds like someone getting slapped in the face for some reason
other times, its just a random sound. I wonder what to make mine

Development Updates
These items have been drawn since then, but most don’t have a name.
I have been working on player sprites, but they are unfinished, so I will not yet show them.
Sound
I apologize for the wait for sound effects, i’ve been waiting to properly set up my recording equipment, as I need a windshield (black foam cover that goes atop microphones).
I use a Zoom H4n to record these types of sound, and unfortunately most recordings haven’t turned out due to the fact of them requiring to be outside. This recorder is very susceptible to wind, as while it may sound as great as the human ear, it doesnt have any of the shape that blocks wind.
I was playing and when I found the Underside it looked pretty friggin neat
Especially the lightning in it!
thank you so much!
you mustve played for a while, because even i get really annoyed tunneling down to the underside lol
ive been thinking of giving the underside a tighter ceiling, what do you think?
p.s. i dont think i told anyone this, but players can press c to toggle freecam, and when untoggled, the player position is set to the camera’s, allowing you to teleport. You can control this by dragging on the screen like a viewport
You’re very welcome!
A tighter ceiling would definitely fit for the underside as well as maybe entrances to it via caverns
Also I actually learned about the freecam toggle thing when I first played yesterday!
i have been doing changes, but there already is entrances to it sometimes. Unlucky seed?
I like the thin wall of soul dirt though, because if you think about it, its not hard to break, but it gives more feedback to the player that something is…off
Most likely an unlucky seed but then again I kinda just dug straight down lol
The wall of soul dirt is definitely a good identifier as when I saw it I felt something was off and I knew I was getting close to the Underside
