Greetings, GDevelop community!
We promise this quick read will be worth it.
We are Studio Qubix, a small game studio dedicated to bringing the best experiences made in GDevelop possible.
But this also acknowledges a lot of hurdles, and undermines the fact that our games are not tech demos or time capsules locked inside of web technology, but are experiences that we put serious craft into to be fun.
We need developers
Were looking for developers well-versed in console modding scenes, to help us port our games to other devices. What defines “well-versed” you might ask?
Well, for one, it’s being open-ended to learning. For example if you’re good with using devkitPro, you can probably port our games to most old Nintendo consoles. But what if something comes around, and it actually needs to be on the PSP? We expect you to take it slowly, and as a process. And that you won’t go into it expecting to know everything, but be open and have good methods of approaching development that will quickly get you accustomed to the libraries and tools required to create software for that system.
I’m quite sure, (and no offense), that nobody here has what it takes to do this. But, you probably know someone who can, or a guy who knows a guy who knows many guys. if you have a developer friend, theres a good chance they know a console modder, or “homebrewer”.
The game being ported in question, would eventually be the game Voyager, in alpha.
How to apply
It’s simple; just email us at hello@studioqubix.com!
Or pass the email to a friend’s friend!
Please make the email subject “Work application from [first name]”.
What to give us in your email
Here are some of the things we wish to hear in your application:
- First name, and optionally but preferably last name too.
- A visual identity not tied to a video game, cartoon, or film’s intellectual property. If you do not have such, please create something so we have a pleasing way to present you if needed.
- Your country of origin.
- Your experience with programming and modding, as well as other skills and acomplishments so we know a little more about your capabilties.
- An external method of contact to follow through with.
- If you wish, tell us a little more about yourself too!
Thats all! We hope to see you!
This too however, is an important read:
Requirements, suggestions, and acknowledgements
Requirements, suggestions, and acknowledgements
An important thing is that while we sure as heck look like one, we aren’t a company.
This dramatically simplifies everything, joining our team is not a job application with a wage.
However…
This doesn’t mean you might not be paid/compensated for your helpful work.
Games published on GDevelop’s game sharing platform, “gd.games”, offers monetization for games.
If that works out, and the money is actually enough to be reasonable to hand to anyone for their work, you will certainly get it if you’ve helped us. There is no age limit for applying, but if you are to sign a legal document, or receive money from us, you will probably need the help of a legal guardian.
All code and assets within our games belong to Studio Qubix. Aka, it belongs to Desmond Campbell. By working with us, you waive the right to claim any ownership of the code you create for us.
Also, something important, we will run background checks on you. We don’t take risks.
Thank you very much,
Studio Qubix
