here I want to discuss about genuine self advertizing and edge cases. what is allowed? what is edgy? and what is “omg spammer alert” ?
it seems accepted to post your own assets, extensions, youtube videos, games, etc… if they are relevant to the topic discussion. but…
what about message handles? like the handles in professional emails, but instead, after each comment in the forum. would a small sentence like:
---- Aldebaran Studio, the maker of Unlander ----
be accepted as a message handle at the end of every comment? if this is fine, what about links? if links are fine, what about many links? like… 3 or 5 (what would be the maximum?)
would handles only be accepted inside a big comment? or would handles be accepted in the topic description at creation?
(note that my idea of handles here is specifically for visibility on a thing that is off-topic)
Good question, I’ve seen places where that kind of thing is common. DesmonDev is right though, there’s a guidelines page here Guidelines - GDevelop Forum that says Don’t sign your posts — every post has your profile information attached to it.
So I think you’re already doing the right thing with your link in your profile and just leave it at that.

I would say as long as moderator won’t come and tell you to stop then do as you please
A signature is pointless on a forum, you have a profile for it.
However, if it has no purpose and is not bothersome, like @Amigo54’s, it doesn’t bother me. Even if it is useless.
If it is used every time for advertising by including a link or promotional text, then I would not be happy.
Is the need to have an answer to every question and to push every boundary a generational oddity, or what?
