Y Velocity Keeps Applying When Applying X Velocity

I am experiencing an issue when trying to add jumping to a game using physics 2.0 The jumping itself works, however when I try to move left or right it completly breaks.

It’s a little inconsistant on when it happens, but it happens almost all the time. It happens both before and after pressing the jump button for the first time.

Why are you applying a force of 40 on the Y axis when pressing the D key?

Also, do you understand what you are doing when you apply forces and change velocities?

Oops I didn’t realise that was there. Not sure how it got there, but I deleted it and it fixed it. Thank you!
