I feel like there should really be more audio options in GDevelop, like audio panning in real time, as well as audio effects
I’m planning to make a top down horror game, and hearing will be an important part of it because for example, you need to listen from which direction sound is coming from so you can identify what direction you want to run away from, as well as maybe muffling the audio when the player is low on health.
Effects could be added to channels or just singular audio files, for a better spatial audio, you could set the position of the audio, how far it can be heard from (in pixels) and it’s fadeout zone (I forgot how it’s called, basically at what point it begins fading away and how far until it’s fully quiet)
Spatial audio is really confusing and I feel like not only should it be a bit easier to understand and make work, but it should also allow for more audio effects so all developers can make sound more interesting and satisfying to hear, some stuff like the effects could just be added as a different audio, but not only will it take more space on the project, but it will also just be annoying to adjust in general, so just being able to add effects with events would really be a MASSIVE life saver for a lot of developers.
Thank you for reading, hopefully one day our audios will become cooler
