Anyway i just wanted to show you all something i realized
Remember when gdevelop introduced 3D?
How they started to promote 3D features?
Even on their youtube channel they started to promote games made with 3D instead of what we had before
The push for 3D is just stupid
Nobody in his right mind would come to gdevelop for 3D
And now they are promoting 3D everywhere and some ppl are leaving cause of that
And others are scared off from gdevelop cause they see no code open source & 3D engine and they don’t even want to try it out
Wat it sound stupid?
And make less sense as you are reading it?
Now read it again and replace 3D with AI
Yeah that is stupid
And to add insult to injury
How you would look at ppl who leave or don’t try gdevelop cause they see 3D somewhere being mention or added?
Like NOTHING is taken away from them
Engine still have same exact features and you can make what you planned to make when before 3D was added
Cause i would look at them like
Even better
Would you believe we should even care about ppl who would leave or don’t want to even try gdevelop cause of 3D?
Well i for sure would not
I would say bye bye to them
Cause if they are willing to give up on gdevelop NOT cause something is missing but cause something they can ignore is being added
Then what kind of relationship they had with gdevelop?
I would say very fragile and not worth any attempt to sustain it
And they just proved they don’t care about gdevelop in the 1st place
So why any1 is it from gdevelop team or from gdevelop community should care about them?
I do not want any1 of you to feel bad
But sometimes we need to bite the bitter pill of truth
Now days there is a fab to hate AI
Its not justified by anything it is just being done by many ppl we like and by that we are jumping on hate AI wagon
Where in fact we are being brainwashed into hating it
Instead of having actual reason to hate it
EVERYTHING can be miss used
Which does not make that thing evil automatically
Its just popular to be against AI
I wonder can any1 give me valid reason why to be against AI
OK we are skipping one that when you tell AI that you have fever and your sneeze all the time and ask it what it can be
And AI reply with “you are pregnant”
THEN YES o 100% agree that is reason against AI

Cause if its that i will not buy your product cause AI can generate it for me

When we’re being chased up the stairs by robot dogs in twenty years - I can guarantee they won’t be being powered by gdevelop ai!
I think that there are genuine reasons to dislike ai - but it’s here and it’s happening and there’s no point shouting at it and hoping it’ll go away. What surprises me is that my kids are more anti ai than I am.
My chances of becoming a successful game developer have possibly gone from .0000001 percent to .00000010001 percent as a result - but hey ho.

For example someone like Kenny
I would say he is NOT right in his actions
But i totally get why he hate AI
People who turn to AI will turn away from what he is selling
But if i can make assets myself instead of buying them from Kenny
Then should he automatically hate me?
Or if i can buy your assets then he should hate you?
Neither me neither you are AI we are humans
But in the end of the day isn’t he losing money (or not gain money) cause of us same way he is not earning them cause ppl choose AI over his products?
Money lost (or to be accurate money not gained) should equally angry us no matter the reason
No1 did complain that everything about gdevelop was multiplayer this and that
We just waited until things came back to normal
No1 did complain that everything about gdevelop was about 3d this or that

And so i believe we should not let others think for us
But we should make our own conclusions
Wait for AI fab to die out to a point where it will be just there and no1 will have problem with that

Someone want to say that AI is learning from other ppl stuff without permission to a point it looks like theft
Well did any1 here ever seen how many problems i solved on discord and here?
And you think from where that knowledge came from?
Or do you think i ever asked any1 for permission to learn from their logic?
Or maybe any1 of us did ask for permission to learn on other ppl work?
Where in fact we see ppl who are remaking pizza tower or geometry dash
Did they ask for permission to learn from source material?
Or did they pay to copy the idea?
And i never seen any1 lash out on ppl who do remakes or clones
Funny how line between what is right and wrong blurs the longer you think about all that
I don’t really care about debates or all the monetization around AI, 3D, multiplayer and so on… I just want that if something exists, it works from A to Z.

In gdevelop when was added did work from A to Z
Multiplayer and 3D even new objects like Tilemap or whatever else you name it
Did have bugs and was not perfect
It took time to make it better
I seen that we gonna get sprite sheet support
And that is one feature i wait for more than any other i seen so far
But wanna bet it will not be perfect from day1?
Heck not even 1st month
Like always it will take time to polish it
Same goes for everything

The biggest problem is that most of the Internet is apparently illiterate, so they rely on AI because they can’t spell, and then cry real tears when their code doesn’t work due to bad typos/syntax errors.
OK yeah that’s not an issue with GD because it writes all the code for you, but the resulting games using AI are nearly always sucktastic.
lol - it’s the main thing that i use google for is how to spell collission.
my bugs mainly come from copying and pasting and forgetting to change the object name in the expressions.

i 100% agree. i love gdvelop, buy i HATE how they are pushing AI slop to be made. gdvelop should be supporting creativity, not AI.

Premise: I’m a journalist, photographer, graphic designer, and musician. I’ve directed press offices, worked for years at computer magazines (designing layouts), and taken photos in many countries (Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Europe). In my free time, I composed hundreds of music tracks and even performed my albums in fairly well-known clubs. For the past four years, I’ve been programming with GDevelop, and I’ve managed to publish at least one game (which has really complex code).
So with the arrival of AI, I’ll probably be one of the first to completely lose my old job. But AI has arrived, and there’s no going back—just like with electricity, TV, the internet, and everything else.
Now, 2026 will be the first year truly centered around AI agents, and programming speed will become exponential: goodbye linear growth. This means that:
- GDevelop’s multiplayer and 3D, which some still consider rough, will likely be progressively refined
- New features will definitely be introduced, and they’ll be improved faster than in the past
- The AI interface will become more and more present, until it’s probably fully agent-based (within two years?)
That’s the situation. Those who want to program “by hand” can continue to do so. Those who want to use AI will be able to use it. But those who complain that GDevelop must remain manual should stop using extensions: it’s too easy to criticize AI shortcuts while using behaviors already made by others. This is to say that certain “purist” positions often hide different kinds of naivety.
In any case, I’ve been hoping for decades to see computers talk—and now we’re finally here. Will they destroy us? Probably. But what fun.

AI CAN be good!
I believe that. AI can actually do some good. I use it as a panic mode when I struggle on something. But I need to say something about this.
You can LITERALLY just make games
Yeah? People will usually have a specific prompt, making targeted results, and you can also just ask the AI continuosly to fix it.
And I know you’re gonna go “But… BUT… we have a credits system and that’ll stop them!!!”
That leads to my next point.

ChatGPT alone has already benefitted me more than GDevelop’s limited, garbage AI. And I know ChatGPT’s free version has a message limit. That doesn’t mean things like Claude and Gemini exist. And you know how I also said

Another AI makes the prompt.
It’s simple. Ask ChatGPT:
Make a prompt for a GTA 6 game to use for GDevelop’s AI Game maker with [features]
and you get a specific, detailed, prompt to toss into the AI, contradicting what you said here:

I know that the Gen AI aspect will drive every AI hater away.
Kenney was one of these. You lost trust of one of the biggest CC0 Assets people. That is a time to WAKE UP and maybe STOP USING AI??? I dunno, make your own delulu choice.
Also… it would suck if the AI sucked… right?

His argument is that, you guys are hating on AI cuz you see slop vids on social media.
Like sure that too but also we know everything that has been integrated with AI the product turns to disgusting n awful experience. Also the post makes no sense like wdym we hate AI only cuz of social media?
Look how much damage AI does to the environment, waterloss, air and more. But NoOoOoo we’re only looking at the “social media AI’S”.
Also the AI in Gdev went from being small side thing to now having it’s self a whole large quarter size space it’s on the create page, I’m telling you it will increase and get worse in ways but in the end he’ll to stick to his non answer questions.

I havent responded here since i had lots of stuff to do. and yeah i agree with you snowy! i dont want gdevelop to market itself as “the AI game engine” even the recent short on youtube they released irked me a little with them promoting the feature where the AI codes for you an enemy.
This whole AI thing made me lose trust in the engine and have switched over to godot where i successfully learned how to code in GDscript because of all the fundamentals i learned in Gdevelop!
its still a great engine and amazing for beginners but hope for the team to not lean into promoting the AI thing in the wrong way

Dude no one will listen to others who say this is turning bad side, because they think everything they do/release is good.
There are a couple new negative reviews on the Play Store because the AI isn’t infinite and they used up the free credits. LOL
