imagine piskel starting a world war…eh
i’m just saying that things go far beyond the small context of GDevelop…
. and a lot of hate towards AI follows that ideals.

I could make wall of text here pasting each link to gdevelop discord message
Where ppl were facing problems which in short were caused by using piskel
NOT cause piskel is bad but cause its not as good as other image editors
Around 90% of these problems were solved by suggesting ppl using Libresprite libresprite.github.io
NEVER yet i told any1 to stop using piskel i just say they can use something else
Also never i opted in for removing piskel from gdevelop
Cause some ppl may like to use it despite they can use something else
At the same time i cannot take away from piskel it is awesome when you want to quick flip image of remove/add some pixels to your image
And it is already in the engine
I still prefer to use external image editors and i think everybody should
But am i here in any position to tell if other users should have even option to use piskel or not?
Well same way i see AI
I do not need to use it
But should any1 have say in taking it away from ppl who may want to use it?
Something really makes no sense when it comes to what arguments ppl use in this topic

Even those who hate AI use it (myself included)… but I’m also sure that I have very little (NO?) influence on the decisions being made about it.

I mean i would but i have no arguments in favor of it

Same as for most ppl for your home this soldering iron is totally fine
It is even beyond of what most ppl need
BUT as soon as you solder each day you start to look at soldering station
For some of us USB is the way cause it is condensed
Throw out station if you can go with something of a size of a pen
BUT then if you do board repairs is it phone or pc or whatever you need to bow before

They are just different targeting different needs of different ppl

It’s either ride on it or be looked as if your the one who’s wrong even though your right. The same people saying “But, but, Gdev will be left behind” are the same people who used to follow people around cuz they was helped once and think that person is their actual friend and same people who think governments n politicians have the best interest for them.
While they’re publicly paid and brought to pass laws. Most people who disagree with this direction Gdev is heading stopped replying because the meat riders don’t think for themselves or see issues it brings in the long run.
It’s either, if it brings tiny good thing its 100% good tool and not single amount bad.
If you read my post above, we might even find some thoughts in common. However, supposing you’re correct here, what do you think this community can do? And how would implementing AI in GDevelop influence or change things that may happen in the future?

As many people above have already explained… being for or against AI doesn’t solve anything.

Company, please consider my feedback. I think AI is causing a significant amount of dissatisfaction among users. It would be more beneficial to focus on improving the 2D physics, as it currently leaves much to be desired. I also propose exploring a different type of multiplayer that does not require GDevelop 5. For now, it seems wise to stay behind the AI. I only chose you because other engines were not working, but if they had been, I would have opted for something that doesn’t involve AI.
I strongly advise against pursuing this AI idea, as it could lead to the AI crashing due to excessive resource consumption. AI is not only driving users away but also consuming finances and resulting in losses. It’s better to collaborate with Yandex if you need a partner, as they are likely to be the best choice in the near future.
Instead of focusing on AI, I suggest creating match-3, chess and other types of games. Additionally, I recommend adding features for creating no-code games or games in C# or C++ to enhance popularity and functionality.
Again, I urge you to partner with Yandex, as they will be a superior choice. It’s crucial to remove AI, as it is not necessary and is driving users away while consuming resources. Instead, focus on developing a different type of multiplayer or updating the 2D physics. This approach may involve some financial loss initially, but it will ultimately generate interest and revenue. AI is unnecessary for this engine and should be avoided.
Create something truly useful, such as the Yandex SDK, examples of complex games, updated 2D physics, and a match-3 extension. Thank you for addressing this review.

thats not a random question at all…
Cuz people here think they’re in still in schools being graded making a whole book just to say simple thing. But in the end their argument is just “But this other company is doing it so, so Gdev must too” or it’s “AI is here to help those who don’t like coding and like to use their brains”. If you read for a bit you’ll see how ridiculous and bad argument they make and it leaves you wondering, how will these people function if all technology goes away right now

It’s very comprehensive to be afraid by something which can get you “less useful” without consentement accorded on or control of the IA tool.
However, dont’t integrate IA (which is very fashionable) in GDevelop or other great tool today, would be an error, commercially speaking. More customers is needed for increasing the financial heath of every business society.
However, customers making interest for IA in GDevelop, are not the same than original users of the tool: it concerns in majority a lot the people not wanting learn GDevelop but wanting be able to produce little games without great knowledge of video games creation.

As we seen Gdev started putting AI since 2023 small specifically June 2023 if you want to ask another question saying but "When 2023?" and make another argument from there. They made the ask AI as small part, then some months later it keeps getting bigger and getting put in the create page more and more. Just small icon, then as a chatbot, then as a small upper page and now a quarter of the create page.
Now as we seen with tons of companies they add AI to their products and a while or so things go up but not dramatically but slowly. And we both know what the community can do but for some reason you're deeply pretending you don't have a single inch of clue.
And the reason why you SPECIFICALLY feel i’m being disparaging is because, you don't want the truth but want beautiful lies being told and just that everything is fine and don't worry.
I'm srry if you feel offended cuz AI ain't liked as you wanted. I'm a dude who enjoys the effort and hardships that pays off and not that easy non fulfilling, no thinking required. AKA SLOP

Nah didn’t say remove it all, though i said keep it small and not push it to the masses, specially to game devs. Since it corrupts what? I’ll let you fill in the blank.
But keep it simple and lovely. As you know while making your game n adding texts etc, if you make the mistake of misspelling words, you’ll get the redline but not being able to get the right word to fix it.
So for that the AI can come in and help people fix their mistakes with their grammer or misspelled words. Also another huge thing it can come in, is being as a background helper.
