People are using AI because even most people who get paid to program are illiterate and can’t spell to save their lives, and consequently their code throws up errors which makes them cry.
Most people will just misuse AI. For example:
Mobile phones came out. Instead of looking up from time to time, people started sitting there all the time and not coming out. Very often I see people almost getting hit by cars while looking at these mobile phones.
AI came out. After that, in my class, some students stopped studying thinking, “If you can look up answers from AI, why study?”. This also caused harm.
It’s better to simply remove the “create a game” feature and keep the feature where you can ask what to do.
You can use the shape painter to draw any shape. There is proper tilemaps, multiple kinds might i add. i dont get what you mean about the shaders, theres all sorts in gdevelop, and you can write your own and inject it with javascript. Just press the update button after running the preview.
the physics engine is not broken, likely incorrectly configured. You arent supposed to use drag with physics objects, youre supposed to use the extension “Draggable (for physics objects)”. Of course it wouldnt work, its for regular objects.
Blockbench is only intended for minecraft/blocky models.
Blender is not embeddable.
The GDevelop engine is fully open source
If you really cared, why not suggest local builds to be supported and easier to do? but oh right, they dont want you doing that. They want money

Physics2D is very robust and the fact that you would give out this misinformation regarding draggable physics objects suggests that you are not qualified to criticize it.
Your comments about Pico8 don’t make any sense. Pretty much all of those features exist in GD. Pico8 can do everything in-house because it is so minimalist. GD supports a much wider range of asset types. Still, you have Piskel and JFXR already integrated, an animation editor, support for Tiled and they went on to add their own tilemap editor… furthermore, the whole event sheet system is a huge feature that Pico8 does not have. Criticizing GD for not being minimalist and restrictive is as ridiculous as criticizing Pico for not supporting higher resolutions and recorded audio.
Once again, not true. The “Ask AI” button can be disabled. Even without using that setting, you can just…not click on it.
I hate AI with a passion but I can’t stand to see this totally misdirected, and misinformed bashing of the platform.
Unity is shouting from the rooftops about their AI advancements. I don’t get all the outrage here. Especially since it’s completely optional.
Seeing GDevelop or anything advertising themselves as an AI-powered something something and advertising the AI features is saddening to see. I know that the AI features are optional and I don’t care if they do put AI features into it, ONLY if it’s optional, BUT we don’t need to shove AI into everything like game engines and browsers, it’s unnecessary.
